The Fact Site serves as a continuously growing collection of interesting information. It offers thousands of entries covering a wide variety of subjects, from adorable animals to significant events and serious crimes. Topics and structure

The website divides content into distinct categories to make browsing easier. Each entry is verified and sourced, and references are listed at the bottom of each piece so readers can confirm the information. This method ensures clarity and reliability for anyone visiting the site.

Background and development

The website began in December 2008 as Funky-Facts, created by Luke Ward, a student and enthusiast of interesting fun facts. At the time, well-organized fact sites were rare, so he built one to share knowledge he found engaging. In 2011, the site rebranded as The Fact Site and expanded content to attract more readers. By 2012, the team included three authors, and monthly traffic reached 100,000 unique visitors. The migration to WordPress in 2013 allowed for smoother growth and management.

Between 2014 and 2015, the team focused on improving the quality of writing and enhancing fact-checking procedures. By the end of 2015, a new logo and design were introduced, and the author team grew to six members. In 2016, The Fact Shop was added, selling merchandise featuring popular facts. The tenth anniversary in 2018 was marked with the publication of the largest collection of facts online at that time. In 2021, a new On This Day in History section was launched, providing daily entries on notable events, holidays, and famous birthdays. The site continues to grow and maintain an active presence on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest.

Content verification

Accuracy is a central focus for The Fact Site. Each fact is researched carefully and verified before publishing. Sources are provided with every entry, and readers can report inaccuracies through a feedback form on each page. The website uses royalty-free and public domain images. For some celebrity-related information, such as birthdays, the TMDb API is employed. The content is produced entirely by the site’s team, although readers can suggest topics for future coverage.
