After the team of Howard Carter opened the tomb of King Tutankhamen, some of the archaeologists died in strange circumstances. This sparked the rumor of the Curse of the Pharaohs (this is true). However, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (the inventor of the Sherlock Holmes) rejected the idea and proved it was groundless.
