A website for lessons, quizzes, and activities shaped by teachers and students

Wayground Quiz

About ten years ago, the founders of Wayground were staring at a wide-eyed cartoon fox. It was part of a math game they had built called WizenWorld. The game was tested in schools but it never really took off. Teachers wanted more choices and students preferred learning with their classmates instead of playing on their own. That moment led to a restart, keeping a few of the cartoon monsters as avatars and focusing on something that truly helped classrooms.

Out of that shift came Quizizz, a tool that quickly spread from teacher to teacher. Educators asked for more features, like a homework mode so students could redo assignments at home. The team listened, added what was needed, and kept building. Over the years, teachers shaped the service into much more than quizzes. It became a place to share lessons, create resources, and explore ways to make learning active and connected. Now the name has changed again to reflect the journey forward. Welcome to Wayground.

Why Wayground matters

The name Wayground speaks to what the website is about, finding a way for every student while creating a common ground in the classroom. From the start, group activities allowed each student to go at their own pace. Over time, more options were added, like read-aloud settings and other adjustments that support different needs without drawing attention to them. The goal has always been to make learning fair, supportive, and shared.

Teachers need a space they can trust to meet different classroom needs. Wayground reflects that idea. It is broad enough to cover quizzes, lessons, and creative activities, yet simple enough for students to understand. The name reminds us that exploration and discovery do not only happen on the playground, they can happen inside learning too.

AI that supports, not replaces

Wayground uses AI tools, but the idea is not to replace teachers. AI cannot build true motivation or run a classroom. Instead, it helps in the background. Think of a teacher managing a class with different levels of skill. Behind the scenes, Wayground can translate, adjust difficulty, or provide extra support. Still, the most important part is the human moment when a teacher stops at a desk and connects with a student one-on-one. AI helps the teacher do that more often, not less.

Updates for teachers

Wayground continues to grow with new updates. Teachers can now use tools that connect curriculum standards with ready-to-use content. More accommodations are being added across different lesson types, like videos and slides. Resources can be bundled together so teachers spend less time setting up, and students don’t have to switch between multiple sessions. AI also lets a single worksheet turn into different formats, like flashcards or quizzes, with just a few clicks.

A new program called VoyageMath helps middle school students by giving teachers ways to personalise feedback. These improvements are built on the same cycle of listening to teachers, building quickly, and improving step by step. Wayground is a product of that constant feedback loop, shaped by classrooms all over the world.
